What is US Business Lookup?
US Business Lookup is an independent directory for searching U.S. business registration records by company name or registration number. Public summaries can include legal name, registration jurisdiction, registration number, reported status, entity type, location and filing date. It is not a government agency or a certification service.
How do I find a company by registration number?
Open Company search, enter the exact registration number in its dedicated field and choose the registration state. Match the jurisdiction and number as well as the legal name; a similar company name alone does not establish the same legal entity. One company can have separate registrations in different states.
What business information can I view for free?
Company-name search, directory browsing and available public business summaries are free. Free browsing shows up to 250 results per search. A free account can save 3 searches. Full addresses, reported people, additional details and downloads require an active paid plan.
How much do Starter and Pro cost?
Starter costs $10/month and includes 5,000 CSV rows per calendar month, 25 saved searches and up to 1,000 results per search. Pro costs $79/month with 50,000 CSV rows, 200 saved searches and up to 1,000 results per search. Both unlock the same available profile details. Prices are USD; applicable tax is shown at checkout.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Paid plans renew monthly until canceled. Use Manage billing in your account to cancel, review a plan change or update payment details. Cancellation stops the next renewal; paid access continues through the current paid period. Review any charge or credit shown before confirming a plan change.
How do CSV export allowances work?
Each downloaded record counts as one export row, including repeat downloads. Allowances reset on the first day of each calendar month in UTC; unused rows do not roll over. Each file contains up to 10,000 rows within the remaining allowance. Available columns vary by record. A subscription does not supply missing details.
Does the directory include every U.S. business?
No. The directory currently lists 28,996,985 primary registration records, not unique operating businesses. Coverage and available fields vary by jurisdiction and record. Additional licenses, locations, nonprofits and reported-person entries may overlap with registrations. Do not add collection counts together as unique companies.
Does Good Standing or Active mean a business is operating?
No. Good Standing is a reported registration standing, and Active describes a reported registration status or activity classification. Neither proves current operations, ownership, creditworthiness, licensing or tax compliance. Read the displayed status and its record date together; unknown or unmapped statuses are identified rather than inferred.
Is a registered agent or officer the owner?
A listed registered agent, officer, principal, organizer or incorporator is not necessarily an owner. These labels describe different reported roles. Ownership is reported only where the available information explicitly supports it. A missing owner or contact field is not proof that the business has no owner or contact details.
How current are the records?
The current registration directory was processed at 2026-10-22T16:16:05.504617+00:00. This is a directory-processing timestamp, not the date every business or field was checked. Profile reference dates describe available observations; filing dates describe reported registrations. Scheduled checks do not guarantee successful or real-time updates. Unknown dates are shown as Not reported.
What does a business address or city mean?
A reported address can be a registration, mailing or service address rather than an operating location. City browsing uses recognized place names and reviewed spelling corrections. A recognized city label does not verify an individual address or municipal boundary. Unresolved city labels are excluded from city browsing.
Can I browse industries, licenses and nonprofits?
Yes. Browse supported industry and entity-type categories, business licenses, locations and nonprofit records. Category listings use available classifications and are not a complete industry census. A single business may appear in several collections or have multiple registrations, licenses and locations.
What does Not reported mean?
Not reported means no usable value is available for that field. It does not mean the fact is false or the information does not exist elsewhere. Paid access unlocks available details; it does not add missing addresses, people, contact details or documents, and does not certify accuracy.
Who operates the directory and how do I request a correction?
USBusinessLookup operates US Business Lookup. Contact support@usbusinesslookup.com or use the contact form for general questions. Use Correct or remove a record to submit a record URL and explain a correction or removal request. Submitting a request does not immediately remove a record.
